Dent achieves FORS Bronze Accreditation

Dent Logistics Ltd has been assessed and has met the bronze level requirement for the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. With over 4,500 members, FORS is gaining recognition as the transport industry’s go-to accreditation scheme. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. FORS provides accreditation pathways for operators of any type, and for those organisations that award contracts and specify transport requirements.

Dent signs five year tyre deal with Goodyear

Goodyear, one of the world’s leading tyre manufactures, is celebrating another successful contract win with Cumbria based haulage firm, Dent Logistics.

The new five-year-deal will see Dent move away from its previous premium tyre manufacturer to take advantage of Goodyear’s technologically advanced tyres as well as its comprehensive fleet management service, TruckForce.

Dent’s new 100% Goodyear tyre policy will see the haulage firm fit Goodyear’s leading mileage tyre the KMAX and its robust mixed service tyre the Omitrac to suit the company’s varied operations.

Commenting on the decision to switch to Goodyear, Martin Hall, Finance Director at Dent Logistics said: “Running a cost efficient fleet is a priority for our business, Goodyear understood this and compiled a package that allows us to really optimise our tyre spend. The Price per Kilometre business model enables us to manage our tyre investment with much greater predictability.

“The length of this deal shows the great level of trust we have in Goodyear’s ability to provide exceptional product performance, alongside the level of service support we need to minimize downtime through TruckForce.”

Commenting on the deal, Marc Preedy, Commercial Director at Goodyear UK & Ireland said: “This deal is indicative of what we can bring to the table for companies like Dent Logistics – we can provide tyres to deliver a high performance, cost-efficient solution and help enhance a fleet’s customer service through a bespoke TruckForce offer. For me what is really satisfying about this deal is the long-term nature of our relationship, which means we can work strategically together to really add value to Dent Logistics’ overall business.”

Goodyear’s KMAX range has been developed for improved mileage performance, while not compromising on other important criteria such as fuel efficiency and traction. The Goodyear Omnitrac is a mixed-service tyre for excellent mileage and traction on and off the road.

Jenni Thompson passes Transport Manager CPC exams

We are very proud that Jenni Thompson, our office manager, has passed her Transport Manager CPC exams. The exams are notoriously difficult to pass and we would like to congratulate Jenni on her achievement. Jenni’s qualifications will further strengthen our team here at Dents and help to ensure our compliance requirements continue to be met.

Five new 15 plate Scanias

Continuing our vehicle replacement plan, we have just taken delivery of five new 2015 Scania R series tractor units. This brings the number of vehicles replaced in the last year to 30, well over half of our fleet. We plan to continue our replacement programme throughout the summer.

Dent expands with the purchase of two new log trailers

We have just increased our number of vehicles in operation with the arrival of two new log trailers. They are skeletal trailers with cranes and Tireboss tyre deflator systems. This doubles the number of log trailers in our fleet and will work in the woods in Scotland alongside our two existing log units.
